Can Drones Fly in Rain or Wind?
TL;DR
Water is the enemy. We cannot fly in rain or heavy mist. Wind is manageable up to 25 mph gusts. If the weather looks bad, we have a "Go/No-Go" decision timeline. Safety is the number one priority.
What happens if it rains?
Direct Answer: We must delay or cancel for safety.
Even if the drones are "water-resistant," rain interferes with the GPS signal and radio links. We usually hold the show until the rain passes.
What is the wind limit?
Direct Answer: Up to 25 mph gusts depending on conditions.
High winds drain batteries faster because the drones have to fight to hold their position. If gusts exceed safety limits, we ground the fleet to prevent "flyaways." We will postpone or reschedule when it is safe to fly.
